Jason Tenner has taken his “Purple Reign” Prince tribute show to so many venues around Las Vegas over the years, it’s hard to keep track. But the show has never been to the Tropicana, until tonight. After a successful three-year run at the Westgate – including the last year and a half in the historic International Theater – “Purple Reign” begins its new residency this week in another classic Vegas room, the Tropicana Theater that was once known as the Tiffany Theater and home for almost 50 years to “Les Folies Bergere.”

As temperatures cool down, the restaurant scene in Las Vegas is heating up with new eateries that have recently opened or soon will open. New eateries include one from Giada De Laurentiis, one from Gordon Ramsay, and a popular and historic Los Angeles deli has added two Las Vegas locations, including one just steps from the Strip.

A big bettor went undefeated, running from Las Vegas sportsbook to sportsbook, placing multiple six-figure wagers with little regard for the odds. A furniture salesman from Houston hedged a promotion that would cost him $10 million in refunds with big bets on the Houston Astros. Wynn Resorts, Limited (NASDAQ: WYNN) is embarking on its biggest expansion in Las Vegas since completing Wynn Encore in 2008. The golf course redevelopment, once known as Paradise Park, is entering its final design phase and will soon begin construction.
Just under a year ago, I was in Las Vegas to support some of my friends who were running in the Las Vegas Rock and Roll Marathon. This is a trip that my friends and I often make, and I have previewed and followed up on races in the past. The weather for this race was much nicer than the one the year before, which was great both for the runners, as well as those of us spectating towards the end of the marathon route.
