Newkirk’s Notes – comments on Las Vegas from AccessVegas.Com publisher Ted Newkirk:
What an incredible Fall season we are having here in Las Vegas! The weather is warm and sunny, the drinks are cold, the golfing is great, and everyone’s having a wonderful time.
With so much happening, we are going to publish a special edition this weekend so you don’t miss a thing. Instead of grabbing the newspaper, settle in with our special update issue on Sunday!
Tropicana Introduces New Havana Honeys Slot Machines – The Tropicana Resort & Casino rolls out its exciting new “Havana Honeys” game – the latest themed slot machines to hit the Tropicana casino floor. The new Havana Honeys game is played similarly to the popular “Blazing 7’s” slot machines with a $.25 cent denomination of play and a three-pay line winning combination.
Havana Honeys machines feature special Cuban cigar-themed pay line symbols such as the Havana Honeys logo, individual Havana Honeys cigars and honey pots filled with cigars. Example of paybacks are three quarters and three Havana Honeys symbols lined up on the pay line will hit a jackpot of $250. The new bank of six Havana Honeys machines is conveniently located on the Casino Level, 5000 wing, directly across from the Tropicana’s aptly themed cigar lounge, Havana Hideaway.
Harvest Festival Theme at Bellagio Botanical Gardens – BellagioÆs Conservatory has been transformed to evoke memories of autumn – long strolls through brilliant colored leaves and the scent of warm apple cider. The gardens, featuring an old-fashioned rustic mill with a rotating water wheel, giant, prize-winning pumpkins and a haystack of Dogwood branches and bittersweet berries floating through a misty fog, become the idyllic canvas to FallÆs festivities. Stay tuned to this newsletter … we’ll have photos soon!
Imperial Palace, Bud Light to Host True Legend of Rodeo – Hall-of-Fame Bull Rider “Tuff” Hedeman Holds Signing. Anyone who climbs on a 1,600-pound animal and holds on for eight seconds of fury can be called tough, but only one has been given the name Tuff. Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame bull rider Richard “Tuff” Hedeman is a true legend in his sport, and what better place for a Legend to hold an autograph signing than the home of Legends – the Imperial Palace.
Hedeman will appear for an autograph session at the Imperial Palace’s sidewalk-front club Tequila Joe’s on Friday, Oct. 22, starting at 2 p.m. The first 100 guests will receive an autographed Bud Light T-shirt. The hotel will also be holding a drawing inside the hotel for a PBR jacket and belt buckle following the signing.

New Year’s Eve Insider Tips
Join us for 2004 / 2005 for the largest, longest street party for New Year’s Eve in the United States.
New York you say? No booze. Sub-freezing weather. People who show up 18 hours early to be crammed against barricades for a 60 second ball drop. That’s not a party, my friends.
Las Vegas? Four miles of the most famous street in the world closed down for pedestrians to celebrate the new year in a neon glow like no other. For one night, you are in the worlds biggest nightclub, no cover charge, and a half-million dollars worth of fireworks going off over your head!
The big party is outside on the actual Las Vegas Strip where they close the road to traffic.
But if an indoor, organized event is more your style, then you’ll enjoy one of the major concerts or resort parties and balls taking place New Year’s Eve!
Special Note: Many of the concerts and hotel parties and balls are not announced until late November or December.
We strongly suggest booking your room now and then making party plans as events and concerts are announced. Stay tuned to this newsletter for event info!
