This Issue’s Comped Insider Tip – Every issue, we’re going to comp you one tip from the couple-of-hundred neatly organized for our paid members. Every issue, Publisher (and 25 year Las Vegas Expert) Ted Newkirk gives “must know” tips which will properly prep you for your next visit. Whether that is 3 weeks away, 3 months away, or “not yet sure when” away.
Due to lower-than-usual demand for rooms the past few months, Las Vegas casinos have literally been digging to the bottom of their databases to find people to send offers to. We’re seeing people who are just signing up for players cards getting comp offers. We’re seeing people who have not visited town in 1-2 years and aren’t much in the way of gamblers getting comp offers.
I predict this will not only continue a few more months, but will resume in 2020 when well over 10,000 rooms are set to open and some are predicting an economy which won’t be this hot. What you need to do? Up your collection of players cards. Get in more databases. Especially ahead of 2020.
For our paid members, Ted went on to give specific advice on which casinos you may wish to target with your sign-ups and a tip to make sure you have a higher priority when the casinos are digging down past their regular players and offering a greater percentage of their database room comps.

She is still a little bit country. That’s why Marie Osmond, pop icon, leaves the lights of the Las Vegas Strip in her rearview mirror for her version of a wild Saturday night. “My husband got me one of those tiny motor homes, so we can just get away from it all,” said the 58-year-old headliner (with her brother) at the Flamingo.

The Palazzo casino resort that opened in December of 2007 looked very different from today’s version. Always intended to be an upscale, sophisticated complement to the Venetian, the Palazzo offered the obligatory collection of exciting new restaurants, including a seafood concept from award-winning chef Charlie Trotter, who passed away in 2013.
