Donny Osmond, singer, entertainer and Las Vegas Headliner, was spotted attending INFERNO – The Fire Spectacular at Paris Las Vegas on Thursday, March 22. Osmond was seen taking in the death-defying stunts, jaw-dropping illusions and more fire than you can imagine during the 8:30 p.m. performance.

Walking into any casino on the Las Vegas Strip, you’re almost immediately greeted by a bar. But though finding a place to grab a beer in Vegas is easy, finding a good beer in a casino can be trickier. At first blush, The Venetian would seem to be no exception. The nondescript bar by the entrance has an equally unassuming beer list featuring a “craft and microbrew” section that isn’t very micro at all – Sam Adams Seasonal, Ballast Point Sculpin IPA, Sierra Nevada.
Ah Las Vegas. How I love thee. I remember (and don’t remember) many good times in this desert oasis of fun. But, Sin City is not just known for stealing hearts and robbing bank accounts. Every so often, visitors break themselves away from the bars, restaurants and Blackjack tables to explore all that southern Nevada has to offer.

One Las Vegas valley resident won $1.4 million at Green Valley Ranch Resort this weekend. According to a Station Casinos representative, the woman was playing a Buffalo slot machine when she hit the jackpot.
Changes are coming to the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino thanks to an investment of $140 million, which will renovate and upgrade rooms, add new restaurants, and modernize the resort. Golden Entertainment, which purchased the Stratosphere last year, said renovations will touch all areas of the Strat. Upgrades will happen in three phases over three years.
It is late Sunday morning when the doors at T-Mobile Arena open before a recent Golden Knights game against Calgary, and a stampede ensues at The Armory, the official team store. This must have been what the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1889 was like.

Hello From Las Vegas! – What I call Summer Part I (what most of you call springtime) is upon us. The next two weeks call for highs in the high 70’s and 80’s, although (as it typical of April), you can expect some wind here and there. Although, remember my recent members column on which months were the most (and least) volatile regarding weather noted that April is often very unpredictable, and often windy. Rain is not completely uncommon (although it seems like we had our share of rain last month).
Beware Of This Sneaky Table Game Modification! – A new trend in an old table game is starting to creep its way into Las Vegas Strip casinos. If you don’t know what to look for, you won’t know that you are playing this “new” version. Yet, the new version takes nearly 3% more of your money (on average, per bet, the house wins more money, more often), then the old version.
My members-only column this week is a report on this new variation of a popular table game, how you may not ordinarily notice the difference, and specifically what to look for so you don’t get burned by these bad new odds against you. These tables currently have no shortage of players, because your average player has no clue they are playing at a high-hold (for the house), bad odds (for the player) table.
PS We are not talking about 6-5 blackjack. That is old news, and should be avoided as well. This is a new twist on a popular table game that will drain your wallet quickly, and simply leave you thinking you had a run of bad luck.

There’s no shortage of tacos Downtown. You can cruise down Charleston for a late night swerve to Tacos El Gordo, pop into Pinches while your runts run around Container Park or round up your squad for a Tuesday special (and scorpion shots) at Nacho Daddy.
With four NCAA Division 1 conference tournaments calling Las Vegas their home this week, its fair to say that the city has become one of, if not, the premier city for men’s basketball conference tournaments.
My work brought me to Las Vegas recently, and like any self-respecting degenerate, the first thing I did when I got off the plane was run straight to a sportsbook. The Masters is on the horizon, after all.
Though Mother Nature hasn’t received the memo, it’s pool season in Las Vegas. Three new pools, surfing and action-packed movies are among the options for water-loving partyers. If you plan to be among the early visitors, know that daytime highs this weekend are forecast to range from the mid-60s to the low 70s.
Hi Ted, It’s been a long time since I’ve written you and a few years since my last Vegas trip, but now I’m thinking about coming back again. And I have a couple of questions:
1. I usually stayed at the Mirage because of the great pool and the close proximity to Casino Royale. I like craps but hate to see minimums higher than five bucks. I enjoy playing the game and understand gambling well enough that I expect to eventually lose a bit or maybe break even. If I come out ahead of course, that’s ideal and a fine surprise. Are there any other casinos that have reasonable craps minimums maybe downtown? I probably will stay at the Mirage again, but with Uber, I can expect to get out and about, more than I used to do when I rented a car or taxi.
2. Resort fees, yuck! Are there any other hotels that can come near the beauty and fun of the Mirage pools, waterfalls, etc., that DON’T charge ridiculously high resort fees? I haven’t tried any off-strip hotels, but might, if they can come near to the atmosphere of the Mirage pools.
Thanks for your continuing Vegas news, I’ve read for many years.
David Durbin
Ted Responds:
Very happy to hear you are considering a visit, and happy that we have been able to help you out and keep you in the loop with our membership newsletter!
– I still love The Mirage (and Bellagio). Love the Mirage atmosphere and location. The only bummer is that although built by Steve Wynn, it is owned by the nickel-and-diming, fee imposing MGM Resorts corporation. But, you’ve discovered the joys of Casino Royale across the street. Where the limits are still low and the drinks are still cheap!
Generally speaking, you’ll find the limits you want there. However, with the advent of Uber, you are correct: There is no excuse NOT to go downtown. You’ll find plenty of $5 craps and blackjack tables. If it is a super-busy weekend night, you won’t find them everywhere. But, you’ll find them pretty much somewhere.
El Cortez is a super-fun place to shoot dice, and because of their location and “regular guy” clientele, they have to keep the limits down. Main Street Station is highly suggested as well. And, don’t overlook the completely renovated Cal, where you can gamble with always-fun Hawaiians.
We have answers to your Vegas questions!
But, you have to ask the questions.

Ohio winters can be bleak. The endless, gray, dreary days tend to take a toll on one’s psyche. By February, central Ohioans are counting down the days – or weeks – until spring. Thankfully, there is a way to beat those winter blues: traveling to a warmer climate. Las Vegas is a great winter getaway.

I’m a bit confused; in Classic Vegas Tip Review you say to go East on Flamingo from the strip and in Best Kept Secret View in Vegas you say to go West on Flamingo form the strip.
Not knowing Vegas that well, would like a little clarification please.
Thanks, Chris
PS Plan on taking Canadian friends there in April
Ted Responds:
Sorry and thanks for pointing this out. One was a typo!
To start to get to that direction, you go East on Flamingo.
If you are handy with Google Maps or similar, you want to get to the intersection
Members get access to this ultra-exclusive tip that I’ve never seen posted anywhere else on the internet and that I guarantee you 99.9% of locals don’t know about. I only stumbled on it because I used to live in that area, and wanted to see where a (public) road went. Since then, I’ve enjoyed it countless times and have taken many family and friends up to see as well. Always awesome.
PS You can try to find it on your own, but don’t blame us if security kicks you off the road leading to the sewage treatment plant. Or you end up mired in a suberban neighborhood. Our members get specific instructions.

Hello From Las Vegas! – It has been a wacky weather March. We’ve had highs in the 70’s, highs in the 50’s (sometimes on back-to-back days), a number of days of 30mph wind, and a few days of rain. Since people do inquire about what are the better (or more predictable) months to visit, we’ll be discussing our preferred weather information references (for Las Vegas) as well as which are the most and least stable months to visit down in Members Mania this week.
Where To Win In Las Vegas – This issue, we’ll continue the discussion — based on state gaming taxation information and casino corporate reports (we read all of that boring stuff so you don’t have to) — of where to play to have the best chance of winning.
Last issue, we covered the very best area of Las Vegas if you have the transportation or don’t mind taking an inexpensive Uber ride. And frankly, you’ll probably save more (in both less losses/more chances to win, and great food at very reasonable prices.
Don’t Forget: (Click) We’re able to offer $5 off your first Uber ride!
We then discussed downtown Las Vegas. It is pretty common knowledge that Downtown gaming is looser than The Strip. However, Fremont Street has its variances. We noted suggested places to play (and stay) and why.
Note: If you are a member and in our new login system, you can find the last issue in our members area.
If you are not yet a member, you can have instant access to this complete issue (including the sections and special reports we don’t put in the free version), plus access to previous information and issues INSTANTLY! Simply go to Members.AccessVegas.com and sign up. Help us out with a “cup of coffee” ($2 per month, paid yearly), and you’ll be the most informed Las Vegas visitor out there.
Where To Play (Or Avoid) On The Las Vegas Strip – Although The Strip has the worst gambling in Nevada (tight slots, bad table game rules), we know that many of you simply won’t leave the nicer resorts and/or still feel that your comps make the proverbial losses worth it. The Strip gambling landscape has been changing dramatically, and we have what you need to know:

Despite some restaurants changing their service or closing completely, Las Vegas has plenty of iconic restaurants and bars in its storied history. Many have stood the test of time, still around decades after opening.
Nevada is about more than the Las Vegas Strip. If you are looking for a weekend getaway or a new road trip destination, here are eight beautiful places to visit in the Silver State that are worth the drive.
Best Vegas Tour Packages!
A guest at The D Las Vegas hit a $100,000 jackpot recently. The jackpot was on a poker machine at the downtown casino’s Longbar where the player hit a royal flush on a $125 bet. It was a $25 machine with the gambler betting 5.
Vegas winter was late to the party this year. But if the sun is out, the daylife must begin. Several Strip pool clubs are scheduled to open this weekend, and many others are gearing up for grand openings in mid-March.
I’m coming to Las Vegas in (name of month). What will the weather be like?
Various
Ted Responds:
We monitor a whole bunch of online forums and groups about Las Vegas, so you don’t have to. Trust me, by the time you’ve seen the question “What is the best steakhouse” for the 47th time, or someone simply saying “I’m coming for the first time, what should I do”, your eyes will glaze over.
In fact, that is why we instituted our members program. For buying us that “cup of coffee” each month, you are entitled to have us personally answer your question for help about Las Vegas. One size does not fit all. We take a minute to ask you what you are after, or what you want to experience. We’re “Your Guy In Vegas”.
For example, we recently answered (and published) information for visiting the Grand Canyon. With two rims to visit (from Las Vegas) and multiple ways to get over there (rental car, bus, airplane, and helicopter), there is no one-size-fits-all answer. Many of you were able to make the right decision for YOU on this bucket list (and not inexpensive) venture. It pleases us to make sure your future Las Vegas trips are your best ever!
So, when it comes to Las Vegas’ ever changing weather, it helps to know which months are generally the most stable, and which are pretty chaotic and hard to predict (months in advance). If you just want a general overview with the understanding that temps here can be 15 degrees higher or lower than the monthly average, no need to do any more than ask your favorite search engine for sites with Las Vegas weather averages. However, that won’t tell you which months are more volatile, and which are likely to adhere to the averages. That’s what we’re here for!
Hope this helps,
We have answers to your Vegas questions!
But, you have to ask the questions.
